He's already proven he's a top heavyweight, with five wins over fighters currently rated in the top 20 by BoxRec and IBO, including three fighters currently rated in the top ten (Valuev, Virchis, and Ruiz). He's the only fighter to defeat Valuev and Virchis.
Ruslan also has has wins over Sprott and Skelton, both rated in the top 20 by the computerized BoxRec and IBO rankings.
His amateur career included two wins over Felix Savon, when Ruslan was still a teenager!Comment

are you kidding me? theres nothing wrong with that girl at all.
actually, from the reports Ive read, Virchis was given a huge gift when he fought Sprott...apparently, Sprott easily beat Virchis and one report even said Sprott gave him a boxing lesson, if I remember correctly. so I really wouldnt say Virchis is undefeated.Originally posted by Tunney againHe's already proven he's a top heavyweight, with five wins over fighters currently rated in the top 20 by BoxRec and IBO, including three fighters currently rated in the top ten (Valuev, Virchis, and Ruiz). also, many people believe that Valuev was given a gift against an old Larry Donald as well, and Valuev possibly lost against Ruiz too, but that was a close and lousy fight. So I wouldnt really say hes undefeated either.
just pointing that out.
anyways, I guess this fight makes sense...but I really would rather not see it again...I dont like such quick rematches, and its not like their first fight was anything amazing anyway.
I would prefer unification.Comment

Ruslan didn't look too impressive in his last outing against Skeleton, this rematch should be pretty interesting.Comment

Since we all know that Valuev fights like Herman Munster, we all know that he is very predictable and easy to fight. Chagaev was good enough to beat the great Felix Savon as an amateur. Anybody good enough to beat Savon once is good enough to beat Valuev twice.Comment
