I think it just depends on whom your opponents are and how you perform.

Most people would rank Monzon and Hagler above guys like De La Hoya and Hearns, for instance.

On the other hand, I think Mayweather would be higher on most people's lists than Pedroza.

I wished Duran stayed at 135 although he was great against Iran Barkley.

moving up and fighting the bigger guys that are good makes a better legacy.

All depends on the name, a guy like Hagler for example stayed at one weight but managed to fight many great fighters at the weight. It depends more on the fighters you face than the weight you fight at. Although saying you are a 3 or 4 division champion sounds nice.

yep that is the top & bottom of it

some fighters have more success moving up cause there style is more conducive ,a fighter whom relys on physical advantges to overcome his oponents rather than Boxing skill is always gonne struggle against guys who are bigger cause he does'nt poccess the same adavantages he did at the lower weight

maybe thats why people like J C Chavez Duran struggled slightly outside of thier natrual wieght divisions

They were special though, and able to succeed at higher weights.

Duran had good upper body movement, feints, and a bag of tricks so he had some excellent ups (and terrible downs) above his ideal weight.

Chavez is probably ranked in the top 5, or top 3, all-time at both 130 and 140. Granted they are junior divisions, but they have richer histories than the other junior divisions.

u can see how a flexible style is more conducive to your success the higher u go in weight divisions though

i would bet that Floyd Mayweather style is more conducive to fighting as 154 lbs fighter than someone like Azumah Nelsons would have been
