Why take away something good? These Cruisers are esentially the Heavies of the past 190-220 pound men who come in peak physical condition, who hit hard yet still fight at a fast pace. This is the division that should appeal to the average Heavyweight fan, but the title "Cruiserweight" throws people off.

Just watch next week's fight and tell me if you want this division gone.

I think they should increase the limit in the CW division to 210.......that way smaller HW could fight in that division if they wanted, like Byrd, Chambers and many others.

I think both Byrd and Chambers, and many more HW's could fight effectively at the present 200lb limit. The difference being big $$$ on offer at Heavyweight whereas Cruiser has always languished in the background, fighters, no matter how good earning peanuts.

Na that division would be even WORSE than the HW division now. There would be even less depth of talent.

Maccarinelli vs Haye is a much bigger fight than any Heavyweight fight in recent years, Klitschko vs Ibragimov turned out ****.

Yeah i agree that cruiserweights make some great fights and i do actually like the division, i have been watching bell mormeck 1 today and haye mormeck both great fights. and i will be going to see haye enzo at the o2. I just thought that these 190-200 lb cruiserweights might be able to make some great fights at heavyweight. If Bell Mormeck 1 was a heavyweight title fight it would have gone down as a classic and everyone would have been talking about it. I have also been reading my dempsey bio that i got and i was amazed at the amount of small 170-190lb heavyweights knocking out much bigger 220-260lb heavyweights.

Those guys would constantly be oversized and they would look flabby to try and be big enough to face some of the larger HW's. Keep the CW division, it is becoming very interesting in it's own right.

true they might try and bulk up, but i wonder how the top cruiserweights would do if they stayed the same size, Bell vs Chageav might be interesting.
