  • Should they get rid of the cruiserweight division

I have seen a lot of people say that they need a super heavyweight division or they need to increase the weight limit for cruiserweight, But i think they should get rid of cruiserweight completely and just increase the weight limit of the light heavyweight division a bit. How do you think guys like David Haye, O'Neil Bell, Enzo Maccarinelli, Jean-Marc Mormeck and Steve Cunningham would do at heavyweight? I think they would add to the division and these guys can produce great fights.

But what if those cruisers stayed at the increased Light-Heavy division? How many of those existing light heavies would be able to cope with the genuine cruisers?

I was thinking of only a small increase of the light heavy limit meaning the 190lb cruiserweights would fight at heavyweight, it also might encourage some of the fatter heavyweights to cut them selfs into shape and still be in the heavyweight division.

i see ur point, but i would prefer to have the div. stay! 190 against guys 240 or 50 is to mcuh of a weight difference!

I don't mind the divisions, it's all the belts that are pointless. One division, one champion. It just makes sense and would be better for boxing.

The cruiser weight, super middleweight, junior middleweight, junior welterweight, junior lightweight, ect should all be eliminated, that way we won't be having an argument about a fighter ducker another fighter because they all would be stuck in the same class and would have no reason not to fight each other. Thats the way it was back in the 1950s down.

Willie Pep was known as THE featherweight champion.
Henry Armstrong was known as THE lightweight champion. (As well as champion in many other divisions)
Ray Robinson was known as THE welterweight champion.
Robinson/Lomata was known as THE middleweight champion.
Ezzard Charles/Archie Moore was known as THE light heavyweight champion.
Joe Louis was known as THE heavyweight champion.

                I miss those days.

i would absolutely hate to watch a super heavyweight division..
this will sound disrespectful but, i dont want to see a bunch of fat men fighting eachother.. i dont like heavies to begin with because they are all over weight.. none of them are lean like the old heavies (tyson, holy, ali, liston, ect). there like fat blobs (exception of wlad).. how the **** can you move around 240 lbs in a 6 ''1 frame? let alone throw punches..

leave cruiser.. its getting some attention now

yeah i agree that there should not be a super heavyweight division, i thought it might bring more depth if you had some of the bigger cruiserweights in with the heavyweights plus it might make the fat ones lose some weight.
