Sam Langford didn't win any major championship titles but he is P4P one the the top 20 greatest fighter of all time.
There is no doubt that Sam was ducked by a lot of people, including Jack Johnson, who said there was no money in fighting black fighters. But since he never won a title, and was beaten and knocked out throughout his career, his "greatness" or "p4p" status is purely subjective.

Very exciting fighter, without a doubt, and often referred to as the best boxer never to win a title. But to say he was greater than Lennox Lewis is just silly.

No, he's greater then Lewis and Calzaghe combined. Langford had like 200 wins, he was a natural light heavyweight and also a great heavyweight. I will not put Langord in the top 10 all time like many people do, but he was def one of the greatest P4P fighters of all time.

Yea. He's of Jamaican decent but his nationality is British and he trained in Canada. I dont really see what the discussion is about.

200 wins sounds pretty good and all, but when TWELVE of those wins came against "Battling" Jim Johson (an amazing 19-32-9 record), you have to wonder (hell he fought "Fireman" Jim Flynn 6 times, yes he was a fireman.) The overwhelming majority of the people he fought would not even qualify as clubfighters today, never mind journeyman. Despite all this poor competition, he still managed to lose 47 times, though to be fair, half of those were after his prime. Top 10 fighter of all time? Nah.

He just couldn't find the sponsers to support him in Canada so he went off to England. So essentially he was bought by England but he is truley a Canadian.

Let me put it this way, who is more responsible for Lewis becoming a boxer? In true actuality he is African. So if you want to discuss nationality according to boxing, you have to ask yourself which country produced this person as a boxer. Canada is the answer so Lewis is Canadian when it comes to boxing.

How many Sam Langford fights have you seen, genius? Besides the one with the fireman? I suppose you think Tye Fields is an ATG as well, hell his resume looks better than half of Langfords.

As far as the thread goes, Lennox Lewis is british. Anyone that thinks otherwise, well, makes Gunstar seem intelligent by comparison.

Sam Langford is rated higher then Lewis or Calzaghe by every respected source. Langford is also in the top 10-30 list of all time, in every list, so you're in the minority and you're also an idiot like you've proven time after time.
