You do realize that when I say that, I said it in order to be economical.

"Europe is a continent of 50 countries and 800 million people"

Well, if I'm not mistaken, he has fought once in Germany, and once in Denmark. Then all of his fights in the United Kingdom.

He was the champ, so he was able to make the challengers go to him - and why not i ask?
In the last 10 years he's beaten all of the best fighters in his division, european AND american, i don't see why it matters where he has done it.

I really do think Calzaghe is getting slightly overrated here. Yes he did beat Kessler in impressive fashion but who else is there on his record that should make him P4P number 2 ??

It matters that he has not faced the likes of Hopkins, Tarver, Jones, Johnson. Are some of them heavier than him? Yes. That's what P4P is about, and making a little more or a little less weight has not been out of Calzaghe's reach. And I have not gone into being American or not, but fighting in the USA, which is very different. Most important championship fights are fought in USA, regardless of race or origin of boxers. And it does matter, because if you want to fight top opposition, you move to the place that harbors top opposition. Like Morales and Barrera, who both are Mexicans, but their wars were fought in USA.

The best boxing tends to be fought in the USA, regardless if they boxers are American or not.

Mayweather fought at 130,140,147,154. I don't think he has always faced the toughest opposition around, but he has faced tough guys. He has proven he's a P4P kind of guy. So did Roy Jones in the past. Calzaghe's pedigree doesn't come close to that. What HOF has he defeated? What great fighters has he defeated?

I would put him 2nd or 3rd, it's a tough choice between him and Pac.

I don't think people would have called Yory Boy Campas a top 10 pound for pound fighter before he fought Trinidad, even though he had an amazing record. But of course, most of his fights had been in Mexico. I know that, contrary to Campas, Calzaghe is the champion, but I do think that the comparison applies, albeit to a much lesser extent.
I was wondering who the two idiots were that had him outside of the top 10. You don't have an alt by chance?
