I think calzaghe will have an excuse if he looks crap against b-hop because we all know that fught will be scrappy but Paciquito vs jmm should look good.

Yh i think that it will be close but a wide us to calz. I say close caus eHopkins is very clever and will stop Joe from starting a wrecking ball of momentum by holding headbutts and generall ruffhouse tactics. This will eman each round will be close but Joe will win them imo

Not top 10. He hasn't fought many "very good" fighters, hasn't fought a Hall of Famer, defeated Mitchell when Mitchell was coming from a loss (and almost did the same against R.Reid, which had lost, then won, then faced Calzaghe -who could only pull a SD).

I don't think people would have called Yory Boy Campas a top 10 pound for pound fighter before he fought Trinidad, even though he had an amazing record. But of course, most of his fights had been in Mexico. I know that, contrary to Campas, Calzaghe is the champion, but I do think that the comparison applies, albeit to a much lesser extent.

Oh, and before the comparisons start against other young top 10 P4P fighters, Calzaghe has been a champion for more than 10 years. He's had more than enough time to face top, HOF caliber opposition. He's not an up and coming fighter who is starting to make his mark.

          Just my non hateful opinion.

How when none of then wanted to fight some kid that no one heard of when the kid could beat them?

None of the HOF guys wanted to fight him, to dangerous for too little reward

                Number 2 atm.

All about Pac-Man v Marques as that is a pickem. Calzaghe v Hopkins is not.

Maybe, maybe not. Care to elaborate? I do think that the fact that the guy has never fought outside of Europe, and rarely out of UK, hurts your point.
That's why I compare him, to an extent, with Campas, who had fought almost exclusively in Mexico (he had a couple of USA fights) before he stepped up and fought Trinidad in the USA.

In no way I am trying to say that Calzaghe is a bad fighter, it's just that I can't see how he's been put in the top 3 P4P by some people where I don't think he should be even considered for top 10 because of the points I already covered.

Solid 2. Floyd has 1 w/o doubt. Manny has 3.

Europe is a continent of 50 countries and 800 million people, it's quite conceivable that a man could be a good champion without ever leaving, while fighting good opposition - he fought the best in his division, just because he didn't do it in America we shouldn't take anything away from him.
