"Stans" and "lifestyle flashy" disregarded by top scientists

It was announced today that scientists had conducted tests on buzzwords used in supposedly adult boxing discussions, including "nuthuggers", "Stans", "haters" and "lifestyle flashy".

After several intensive testing regimes scientists could find no validity to such words.

"It's quite a surprise," said one Dr. Ivan Madeup, "we saw these words being said so often we assumed they must mean something. But our conclusive evidence shows that they are actually just meaningless noise uttered by 15-year-olds in the absence of any mature rational language."

The focus group tested also expressed surprise upon hearing this. One of the group of volunteers for testing, one Mr. Chip ****ena-Dude, said "It was a big surprise to me, I'll tell ya. All this time I was saying stuff like 'co-sign', 'word' and 'expozzzzed', thinking I was actually making a point. But the scientists informed me that not only was I spouting meaningless kindgerten drivel, but that 'co-sign' also sounded incredibly like the words of a promiscuous ****sexual."

It was at this stage that Chip broke down in tears. "All this frickin' time, man, I thought I was making sense. It turns out I was just talking like a mindless ****."

More on this breaking story as we get it.

I think everybody gets it now, man. They're all thick, and you and the clutch of posters you approve of are not. Message received.

What seems open to debate is your aim in posting multiple threads to that effect. You've stated many times that you prefer the san(ct)ity of your own lounge, yet you seem to spend almost as much time here posting with a chip on your shoulder as you do making informed, hyper-intelligent posts in said private lounge.
Which begs the question -- are you posting out of concern for the state of the forum, or are you posting just to mock people and incite ****?

It isn't only the volume of these threads you've been making recently, but moreover the consistent tone of them -- insidiously hostile, self-aggrandising -- which seems to smack of a wide narcicisstic streak and cast doubt on any positive intentions you could have.

It's great to be intelligent, but it's not so great to believe yourself more intelligent than you really are. There are many fine posters in NSB, just as intelligent as you and with just as much of worth to contribute.

Bear in mind the sport we follow -- in base terms, we have two men punching each other in the head and body. Pugnacious teenage knuckleheads will come with the territory, however much we intellectualize and apply logic to the sport and exalt its art.

But saying that, I believe the people who have absolutely nothing to contribute really are in the minority and would much rather focus on appreciating the efforts of everyone -- that goes for the BS staff-writers and posters alike -- who contributes to the wealth of interesting, thought-provoking and entertaining reading this board throws up.
There is a lot of good writing posted in NSB, and to focus only on the negative aspects of the forum is to be wilfully ignorant of the diversity of opinion, insight and experience that is shared here.
Ok, so not everybody capitalizes, punctuates or follows the laws of grammar to the letter, some people may use catchy little buzzwords that grate on you, but it pays to come with the attitude of respecting all individuals until they give you severe reason not to.

Dividing fans up into two groups of "non-thick" and "thick" and dismissing the latter for surface aesthetic reasons is is just as misguided as dividing them into

I agreed with most of what you said, up until this bit. Nuthuggers and haters is objective, and thick and not thick isnt. Therefore they cannot be compared in this context. Plus the whole nuthuggers and haters thing is another joke of Annies, used to poke fun at a group of people, mainly floyd fanboys, who justify everything he ever does with the words "your just a hater" if you criticise him.

                  I take your point.
But I disagree that identifying "nuthuggers" and "haters" is a wholly objective process. There are plenty of objective and well-reasoned posters who have been misguidedly branded nuthuggers in the past.

But only by the thick people or haters. If it wasnt objective then people wouldnt really be able to call them huggers/haters in the first place....

The only way to decide if someone is a hugger or a hater, is by looking at what they post. If they post mostly positive things about one boxer, they might be a hugger, or they might be a genuine fan trying to put across a valid, unbiased point. The **** is objective, and thats why I try to stay away from using such terminology.
