Floyd could potentially win a linear title from a guy like Sturm looking to cash in on a big payday. He won't ever be the real MW champ though. He'll definitely have to worry about being the recognized WW champ, and possibly JM champ first.

I know about 65% of this forum is fed up with Floyd not fighting the real threats and everything... so its gonna make a lot of you seem like... if he wont fight Cotto, why would he ever risk for the MW championship.. You all have a point...

I for one think he WILL eventually fight cotto... with that said...

Ive ALWAYS thought that if Floyd really wanted to, he could box his way to a middleweight championship victory... at the RIGHT time..

I see him doing it, He has the boxing ability to, to outbox someone even at 160... obviously he would NEVER have the power to do any harm, and if he DID get caught it would be problems... But I still see him having the ability to outbox for the MW Title...... SOMEDAY...

If he fights an beats Cotto then maybe he might try at middleweight, but he isnt big enought to beat an elite middleweight imo, he could well take a belt against one of the lesser holders.

comparing what oscar does in the ring with what floyd does in the ring is too far fetched to me...

floyd could outbox any fighter at mw, kelly pavlik especially. who has kelly pavlike ever fought, with the skills of mayweather, including movement, accuracy, speed, defense, etc? nobody. floyd would outbox the **** out of pavlik, who obviously has the power advantage, but we have been down this road with floyd before, he is always the underdog when it comes to power, but his defense is too impecable, and his movement is too methodically sound for pavlik. pavlike would have to pressure floyd for every minute of the fight for 12 rounds against floyd, and land some very hard shots, because floyd is stronger than he'll ever know. skillwise, pavlike stands no chance in hell against floyd. i could see floyd winning a championship at middleweight, the wbc title included.
