Can/Will Floyd one day take the Middleweight throne?!

I know about 65% of this forum is fed up with Floyd not fighting the real threats and everything... so its gonna make a lot of you seem like... if he wont fight Cotto, why would he ever risk for the MW championship.. You all have a point...

I for one think he WILL eventually fight cotto... with that said...

Ive ALWAYS thought that if Floyd really wanted to, he could box his way to a middleweight championship victory... at the RIGHT time..

not necessarily against Pavlik... but maybe down the line... im talkin possibly 4 - 5 years from now... when the right guy has the belt...

I see him doing it, He has the boxing ability to, to outbox someone even at 160... obviously he would NEVER have the power to do any harm, and if he DID get caught it would be problems... But I still see him having the ability to outbox for the MW Title...... SOMEDAY...

    Ala Roy vs Ruiz

Money may Can and Will eventually win the MW title

Money may COULD win it... but will NEVER take the risk

    Highly doubtful.

If he loses against Cotto, I can only imagine he'll want a rematch (if one isn't already signed with the original contract).

I don't see him doing anything in Middleweight unless he's fighting Pavlik. The Middleweight division isn't necessarily packed with big money names except a Pavlik.

    Sorta pointless

Taking the MW throne, would definitely be for legacy purposes...

and im talkin like 4 - 6 years from now.. when floyd has half a billion and the huge payday isnt as important as the legacy part of it

I don't see him doing it, he's too small for 160 now and in 4 to 5 years he would have slowed up enough to be quite beatable, no way would he take that risk then.

After watching Spinks give Taylor a competetive fight, One has to believe Mayweather could beat a guy like Sturm or something for a trinkett.

Alright, I maybe would give him a chance in the next 2 years against one of the weaker champions but not 4-5 years.

True but aside from a guy like Pavlik, think of the names that would drop/move up weight to pick him up (Jones Jr., Winky Wright, Jermaine Taylor, Mayorga, Trinidad, **** even Calzaghe would kill himself to make weight for that bout)with some names being more lucrative than others obviously. I think Mayweather could find some success but would struggle a lot at MW and the only way he wins is by UD, no if's, and's, or but's about it.....and believe that chin will be tested. I garauntee we would see a legitimate knock down if not knockout handed to Floyd.

Thats true.. the inital win might not be a money fight.. but once he had the belt... WOW.. the names he could fight could be worth some $$$
