Hey Slick... thanks for posting the video of that incredible fight, it's nice to watch it over again.

Man, what a brutal war, can't understand how both fighters were able to stand after taking some many huge bombs the whole fight, but I do understand why both never reached anything after that. Something like that just ****s your brains out for good.

Every of today's HWs would be KOed by a tenth of those landed punches.

Yes, and Ike Ibeabuchi was a waste of talent. There is no doubt in my mind that he would have become one of the greatest heavyweights of all time if didn't go to jail for ****. After that fight, Tua's spirit was broke and he didn't train properly for most of his fights back then. He could have had a belt if he had came into fights properly. I miss those days when the heavyweights looked like them, instead of all of them being from russia.

I feel the same way, Ibeabuchi could be great and he would have rid us of the Byrd/Ruiz era.

Imagine the epic battles he could have had with Holy, Bowe, Lennox, Vitali and possibly Wlad.

Ike already delt with Chris Byrd, he knocked him out brutally I also wish that Ike had fought the likes of Holyfield, Bowe, Lennox ect because he had the tools to compete on that level. He was very technically polished and reminded me of a cruiserweight version of Evander Holyfield. It was scary to think about a fighter his size with all of that stamina, power, speed, skill, and ability. Its frustating to me when i think about him fighting the elites because i think that he would have beat them all. He already knocked out Byrd, (a former champion) and probably the only man in heavyweight history that could stand in front of prime David Tua and out slug him.

I’d very much like to see Tua back in the ‘hw mix’ again, but unfortunately he doesn’t seem to want to step up his level of competition. There were rumors early this year that he’d face hw prospect Chris Arreola but the fight never materialized and Chris ended up facing Cliff Couser…

The unfortunate fact of the situation is that, if Tua got in good condition he could probably beat some of decent competition and get himself a shot. However, right now, he has no business stepping in with one of the titlists….
