    Hatton: Lazcano First, Malignaggi Second

Ricky Hatton has planned out his first two fights of 2008. According to the Manchester Evening News, the first will come against Juan Lazcano at the City of Manchester Stadium on May 24. The second will come against IBF junior welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi, tentative for Autumn at New York's Madison Square Garden. [details]

I only like it if Paulie agrees to be the co-feature that way it provides some sort of buildup to a potential match up between the 2 at the historic Madison Square Garden. I look forward to Ricky Vs Paulie..

Lazcano, Malignaggi, then retire. Screw Witter. Given the style of fighting that Hatton had to use because of his extremely short arms, he has taken a lot of punishment in his career. Add to that his terribly unhealthy lifestyle of alcohol and obesity inbetween fights and I think it's already time for him to call it quits. He has nothin else to prove.

I was hoping Hatton was going to face Malinaggi some time this year and it looks like if Paulie agrees to certain things than the bout is on.

What possible purpose does fighting the man who lost to the man that lost to Witter last time out serve? None.

Absolute bull**** choice of opponent. I feel sorry for those fans who'll be shelling out £50 a time to watch this farce.

no1 should buy this bs if its on ppv. paulie should screw ndou and the ibf title and fight witter if he really wants it (i dont think he does). winner could then face hatton.

I definitely wouldn't buy it if it was on PPV, and a fight with Lazcano is fine with me. After what Mayweather did to Hatton you can't blame him for taking one fight to get back on the winning track. Then after that he can fight the more meaningful fights.

No Witter? Hatton is denying Britain a major world title fight, he's basically admitting he would get spanked.
