It's actually not so different if you talk about "combat" sports. The big difference would actually be that boxing isn't nearly as complete as MMA is for "real" street fighting.

Boxing should lower the glove size to 8 oz for HWs, like they used to have, and 6 oz-8 0z for everybody below it...6 oz being anybody from MW down can choose this size or 8.

I enjoy both. I don't see why there should be one over the other.

The advantage I give MMA at least now is like someone said before, they make the fights people wanna see on a consistant basis.

Even this Saturday you have Anderson Silva vs Dan Henderson. Arguably the 2 best Middleweights in the World going at it. Before that we saw the long awaited Wanderlai Silva vs Chuck Liddell (which was a crazy fight).

Grant it in Boxing you literally can fight anyone you want as opposed to UFC or Pride where you're fighting someone within the designated federation, but that hasn't stopped Dana White from pullin off blockbuster deals with Rampage, Dan Henderson, Big Nog, etc from Pride to fight UFC's best.

I still put Boxing over but only because I've followed the sport for so long. But MMA's mainstream popularity is growing strong everyday.

lol boxing is definately the better of the two sports. it has an illustrious history, with countless amazing fights and rivalries in the archive. its been a working mans best friend for a long long time, and even had a spell as the mainstream sport in the world. For me it's about honour and seeing who is the better man.

MMA on the oher hand has very little of this. kicking someone in the face is neither honourable or sporting. kicking someone in the head and knocking him out or choking someone untill they pass out does not prov eyou are the better man, it proves that you are a vicious ****. i believe his makes the world a worse place. when kids watch this and aspire to be like these fighters you are creating a major problem for the future.

im not knocking what they do as they are highly trained proffesionals, im jst saying it's not my thing.

i must admit i do watch it more and more although i dont agree with it, and i think boxing is the better sport anyday.
