    (2) Cotto wants to earn the most money while letting his promotional company take the hit when he takes easy fights by blaming them for making the fight.

    I prefer to believe it's (1).
sorry, but this isn't even an option for a rational person. a rational person could not look at cotto's resume and think for a second that he's earning his bread the easy way; that ****'s ******.

your 1st point is valid, the 2nd point is something that an idiot would debate woefully for a good 4 minutes before he's proved wrong about the 20th time in.

I bet Cotto hasn't even bothered to look at tape of Gomez. I hope he completely destroys Gomez(no hate for gomez), just so there's more pressure on Mayweather.

Even if you don't like Cotto, if you want to see that fight, you have to root for him to steamroll Gomez and take care of the Marg/Cintron winner. He will then be the undisputed, clear-cut, no-doubt-about-it, public-and-HBO-mandated number one contender for Floyd. His profile will also be that much bigger and the fight will be bankable enough for Floyd not to turn it down based on money alone.

Well, you would think so. But if he's getting $20 million for wrestling, he may demand 30 for a fight where it's REAL.
And that's exactly what is goin to happen. I couldn't say it better myself. But we must not forget, the first time cotto was asked about floyd, he said he wanted to get some more fights in first, which he did. Whomever comes out on top of the Cotto/marg/cintron fights Floyd will fight. At that point they would have enough stock to bring in the money floyd wants. Let me go on record to say this: I like Cotto but he CANNOT beat floyd. Too slow, not enough defense (although he toughs out the match to ware opponents down), and if i'm not mistaken he has a shorter reach than floyd. Floyd is way too accurate of a puncher and just too fast for Cotto. It'll be a late round stoppage.

You act as if Mayweather is unpenetratable.. Judah manged to floor him, it's possible that a prime Mosley could have done way more .. It would be an exciting and awesome fight!

because mayweather was high risk.. very low reward.

Mayweather runs from good boxers?? And this coming from a guy who's about 2 fight Alfonzo Gomez?? He better put his attention fully on Gomez becuase this guy has been making a habit upsetting good fighters. Plus if he keeps knocking on Mayweather's door eventually he WILL answer and Cotto doesn't want that!!

Look, I really think all this B*tch talk is irrelevant. If you hate Floyd you want the Floyd/Cotto fight to happen because you are sure Cotto will be the one to chop Floyd down. If you love Floyd you want the fight to happen to validate your feelings about "Money".

Me. I really don't give a flying ****. I want to see the fight happen to see it happen. I like Cotto. He is a thrilling fighter and always finds a way to win. I think Floyd is brilliant but fights too little which makes it hard to get excited about him. Just fight Da**it!
