    Is Boxing......

going over board with this whole ppv thing. not really showtime but hbo is putting all of their title fights on ppv. Remember the days when there was GOOD boxing on regular TV ala SRL, Tommy Hearns, Duran and other great fights. It is getting to the point where we cant get a GOOD bout on without having to pay 50 dollars, and 35 to see Edwin Valero and JCC jr. I mean come on. I have bought nearly every PPV this year and this **** is getting expensive. I mean I got it, but do I really want a 160 cable bill every month? Mosley and Judah, come on they are both coming off losses. Cotto vs Gomez come on dude. And not only are we not getting title bouts on TV, we arent even getting good undercards. Maybe Im just rambling but I had to vent someway, somehow. Does anyone else feel this way?

It's BEEN overboard...most PPV cards are **** and the main event usually becomes underwhelming

I think so. I've given up PPV. I'm never ordering a fight again.

Are you sure Calzhage-Hopkins is HBO and not PPV?

              Yes.

I don't mind PPV though. It's something that I've just grown used to and much rather watch it with quality insted of a screen. Granted I would never pay for a JCC jr vs some bum card, but HBO PPV's are usually solid.

Yeah, especially with fights like Mosley vs Judah being on PPV its too much.
I can see fights like Taylor Pavlik 2 being on PPV although I think it was a waste of money and overpriced...the undercard ******.

Mijares vs Navarro did not suck. That was better then the main event (which was also pretty good).

at first i thought this but as i did some research and found out stuff, HBO really doesnt have a choice.

Its either put these fights on PPV, or waste up massive amounts of their budget paying for those fights, and use up the entire budget by August.

You used to see these BIG fights on free HBO because PPV wasnt big and not many homes had access to it, and the Boxing budget was a lot bigger for HBO
