    Tyson had an iron chin.

Ruddock hit him with flush uppercuts, Bruno hit him with his best punches, Tucker hit him with the uppercut, Bonecrusher Smith hit him a few times, etc.

Tyson took punches in every single fight of his but never even flinched, yes he had defensive movements in his prime but he still took punches, just not as many.
When he lost those defensive movements, he started taking more and more punishment in his fights and eventually got KO'd.

Douglas, Holyfield and Lewis just plain beat the hell out of him.

    Tyson vs Lewis

    Tyson vs Williams

    Tyson vs Douglas

A look at Tyson in the 90's (includes the Ruddock fights).

You may question his willpower because he never got up from the canvas but not his chin. It was 'iron'.

Even after he was shot he is still nigh on impossible to KO whereas the first fight where Tyson didn't look himself or was in with someone who was going to win no matter what he got KO'ed. If Peter couldn't do it, as bad as Toney looked in their second fight, Williams won't do it.
Toney still had his defensive movements that night. He lessened the impact of Peter's blows with head/body movement and Peter wasn't really going for the KO anyway.

I'm not questioning Toney's chin but he is an under-sized heavyweight, he is 40 years old, he can't use the steroids anymore and he hasn't trained for a long time.
There's a good chance he gets knocked out, depends on what kind of shape he is, has he lost his reflexes, is he fighting through injuries and other stuff.

Even the toughest guys were KO'd at some point of their careers, Ray Mercer for example. Some day you just get old.

This fight should be billed as:

      "Fight or Starve"
Sad but true I guess. Toney should have enough money by now, but Im not so sure about Williams.

i agree, if anyone looks specifically at the Douglas fight as an indictment of tysons chin they are biased right up front.

buster douglas hit him with every punch in the book 20 times over, i dont think im exaggerating one bit when i say there are only give or take 10-15 heavyweights all time who could have taken the beating tyson took that night for as long as he did. the combination that douglas finally put him down with may have killed a lesser man. the fact that tyson actually had the sense left to get to his feet was as amazing as the upset.

Hard to say who will win this one...I guess I'd give the very slight edge to Toney.

Oh, it's interesting that everyone is suggesting - myself included - that this will be the battle of the fat bastards.

Danny has said he has his weight under control now. The crazy **** weighed less than at any time except his debut when he faced a Welsh heavy known as Scott Gammer. He was 228lbs, which is anorexic by Danny standards.

However, the last time out the crazy **** said that he likes to be heavier against big punchers so he can absorb the shots better. Against Oleg Platov he bulked up to 270lbs.

The question is, as the **** says he likes to boil down these days for his speed and boxing, will he come in light? I assume he's not going to be regarding Toney as a murderous puncher.

james toney - this is one guy that needs to retire. we already can barely understand what the hell he is saying.

actually, i'm completely fine with him not retiring. i would like to see williams beat the hell out of toney.

The worst robberies have been in the US: Sturm/DLH, Lewis/Holyfield I, Meehan/Brewster, Morales/Diaz, Byrd/Golota, etc.

tunney has been spot on with those robberies.

another robbery in recent memory is pac/JMM. remember? with that judge saying he didn't think he could score all three first round knockdowns.

that alone cost pacquiao the victory. that judge should've been fired and the fight restored to a pac victory as it should have been.
