When I first saw Wlad do that I was wondering if it was legal as well, but I guess it is. You guys are right I do remember Wlad doing that, but definitely with not much force.

Ibragimov's arm/shoulder must have gotten tired fast from getting it hit down that hard so often, totally legal move by Wlad...but a bit dangerous if your opponent has quick hands....In the gym, I've seen that done by fighters, &after a few times the guy getting his jab pounded down figures it out...feint with a jab, as soon as the other guy reach out to pound down &misses...you counter fast. Ibragimov wasn't able to do that though.

That was definitely not legal. With the force he was hitting his hand down with the inside of his glove I was surprised Ibragimov could use his right hand at all.

It would seem like it is legal if the referee doesn't warn you about it. George Foreman used to use a similar tactic effectively.

I don't think there was a great need for it.
              Ibragimov's arms aren't that long.
