How is it the minority when just about every brit @ the Grand Garden boo'd?

I know everyone didn't boo, but I watched the fight at a bar with a ****ty sound system and it sounded loud. I'll give you a pass since your in Scotland. Its customary here to show respect for the flag and during the national anthem. I could also see how people in other countries may think we take the Patriotism and love of country a little to far. Being that modern America was created by the British, I figured the UK probably has the most similar culture to the US.

We do have a similar culture and it was disrespectful but I don't understand why people are so annoyed by it.

I don't think anyone outside of the boxing realm really knew about it. Wasn't front page news by any means. Just disrespectful. What is something a foreigner could do in the UK that would be seen as a disrespect to the country? Then again I guess there is already historical beef with beef between England and Scottland. Or possibly England and half the other countries in the world.

I was listening to adam carolla on the radio not to long ago and he was talking about the floyd vs hatton fight since he was there. He said he could not understand why who ever is in charge of the big screen at the fight should clips of floyd during the anthem. since the whole night all the british fans would boo everytime they saw floyd on the big screen. You would think that they would have figured it out before the anthems.

Im pretty sure that was the reason hatton fans were booing during the anthem because it a pretty class less to boo a nations anthem.

I'm aware that in British culture they boo the anthems of other countries at soccer games(Dont know the extent of it). That being said, any Brits lucky enough to go to the fight please show class and remain silent during the anthem. Most Americans found it offensive. ALL Americans that have served this country through the armed forces found it offensive.
I promise to give the USA all the respect it deserves as a people.. just as soon as the USA starts to respect others as a people.. and stops thinking they are the best at everything and the centre of the universe.. fair???
