I haven't watched enough of Thompson to really make a call....he's a southpaw though, correct? about 6'4", pretty big guy. When I think of Wlad fighting a big rangey southpaw....I can't get the Sanders KO out of my head, but Wladimir has come a long way since.

i dont think the foot stepping would be as much as issue with thompson. sultan fought with a wide base leaning back a lot which meant wlad had to try to get as close as possible to land a shot. tony is a very upright fighter and doesnt lean away from punches, mostly blocks them with his gloves.

thompson and klitschko woulf probably be an entertaining fight imo. thompson is a volume puncher and he would be ready to go out on his shield against wlad. wlad in return would be forced to throw a lot more punches otherwise tony may start banking rounds.

Now that you mention it Walker is having a rematch with that guy this Friday on Shobox.

Exactly. Maybe Wlad gasses out late after punching glove all night. But yeah, Tony's not gonna back down and won't have a hard time hitting Wlad.

in regards to thompson, he is the only heavyweight over the past 3 years who has gotten consistently better with each trip to the ring. he is without a doubt the most underrated fighter in the division.

i wouldnt hesitate for a second to pick him to beat sam peter or oleg maskaev were he in one of their spots.
