the only thing that could ever possibly point to a Thompson win is his consistancy...he is always coming forward, throwing punches.

who knows, if Wlad decides to only jab and not throw a single right hand until the 8th round, Thompson could get the win...because Wlad is terrible at counter punching, and Thompson could prevent him from ever punching ever by constant pressure.
but I seriously doubt it. A lot.

Wlad vs Thompson would be great, nice to see Wlad fight someone his own size and see if he can dominate even there.

I think Wlad would be too quick and powerfull for Thompson, but anything could happen.

Wlad came out totally unharmed last night, so I believe it increases the chances for a showdown with Thompson on the near future, probably May?

Anyway, I'm sure Wlad will try to land a fight with Chagaev before settling for Thompson and that may take a few weeks.

Is it possible that Wlad may vacate the WBO belt rather than fight Thompson?

I guess Povetkin won't stand in the way as his camp has already said they are willing to do the fight on the second semester.

I read an online interview last month and Thompson said he was waiting for the outcome of the Klitschko-Ibragimov fight to see if he gets his shot at the WBO.

So we'll probably know more in the next few weeks now.

Wlad said after the fight last night he is prepared to fight again soon.

I believe he will choose to fight Thompson, if the IBF lets him wait until fall to fight Povetkin without stripping him of that title.

I think this last fight proves that nothing is a given with Wlad. Thompson would have to watch for Wlad stepping on his foot and listen for when Wlad's Russian trainers shout for the right hand like Drago did Apollo. He could possibly build an early lead by outboxing and then weather the desperation storm from Wlad who'll be looking for the late KO. Tony definitely deserves his shot though.

Didn't Travis Walker get knocked out in 15 seconds by a security guard just recently (okay TJ had a good amatuer career, but he was inactive as hell the last few years?)
