Emmanuel called Cotto the best short-distance

puncher since Mike Tyson during HBO's broadcast of Cotto vs Pinto.

    Comments?

I sort of agree. I think that Mayweather is more accurate to the head when in the pocket, but is he consistent enough since he's more of a defensive fighter?

Toney is the best inside fighter of this era period.

I would be inclined to agree, he puts his hips into almost every punch, however this does leave him slightly open to counters.

I could agree with that but how about right now?

Neither Toney nor Bowe is fighting as of now. Well, even if Toney fights he is shot beyond shot.

Guys, you are misunderstanding what Manny is saying. He talks about this all the time. He's not talking about inside fighting or where you land the punch. He's just talking about how much leverage you can get on a punch from short distance and Cotto is great at that but thats not too hard to be great at since both him & Tyson have very short arms.

However, I strictly remember when Chop fought Floyd, he also talked about how great Mayweather was a landing those short crisp punches and as soon as he said that, Floyd caught Chop with a great shot. It was in the round when Chop really hurt Floyd but then Floyd started coming back. Both of them were face to face and he said that Chop better watch out because he needs alot of distance to punch and Floyd is very good at getting leverage on the short shots and then Floyd landed it

                    I disagree

Cotto doesnt really have 1 punch KO power. He did in the Pinto fight tho lol. Everytime he touched Pinto he rocked him or dropped him or both. Cotto wears people down with jabs, straight rights, uppercuts, body shots. He does it all. He doesnt really come inside and work the way Tyson did. I dont really see what Steward is saying.
