Stop acting like Cotto would fight anyone anywhere please? Mayweather could or could not fight Cotto. If i was him i'd let it go because if he doesn't he will be there and beat Cotto, then another superstar will come calling him out until he loses. I'd become a promoter right away and learn some actual skills so i don't become an Evander Hollyfield, Roy Jones or Bernard Hopkins, fighting over 40.

You guys left out the funniest **** he said on the interview..."Floyd should make his mind about what sport he wants to be in... it's martial arts, wrestling, or boxing?"

Margarito is a nobody as far as household names are known...i know hes a quality fighter that earned a title fight but theres no way Floyd would fight him theres no ppv money in that..Cotto however is slowly but surely becoming a household name, his buzz will only continue to grow as he beats Gomez on HBO and then Margarito...one that happens Floyd will gladly accept the fight and make Hatton like money if not more

If it's money "Money" wants, he'd get it for a fight with Cotto in early 2009. It's the fight of the century. Everybody and their mother-who's-never-watched-boxing would order that fight. The spectacle would make ridiculous amounts of bank, so that's not going to be his excuse.

Floyd simply won't take a fight against an elite competitor if it means he stands a chance of losing. He's going to protect his record, claim that he's bored, and then walk away until the Cotto-smoke blows over. Maybe he'll make a return down the road, but it will be against another name without the skills to give him a real challenge.

the **** are you talking about? the dude wants to fight the best fighter out there and your saying that he shouldnt cuz he will lose? do you not realize the ******ity in what your saying? why do you watch boxing? why do you watch any sports at all? you sound like those ****ing parents that put their kids in those leagues where no one wins or loses and there is no competitive edge.

Cmon, there were 8,000,000 reasons to fight him at the time. He declined Arum's offer of 8mil, yet went and chased after Spinks. I doubt he would've made anywhere close to that figure.

All Cotto really has to say is something along the lines of "he keeps coming up with all these excuses, but everyone knows the real reason is cos he knows I will knock him out" Mayweathers pride and ego wouldnt allow him to walk away.

eh...Margarito at that time wasn't the a big enough fight for Floyd considering the risk. If I recall Floyd told Margarito to watch him do business. If margarito would have taken the right fights and built himself up a little better it could have lead to a showdown. But he had trouble with Clottey (would have lost if Josh didn't hurt his hand) and lost to Williams. He messed up the money. Cotto on the other hand brings a big mane to the table and he has been very successful in his recent fights. Him calling out Floyd makes sense and I see it generating a lot of money when they fight. Outside of De La Hoya I think this is the fight Floyd is waiting to materialize.

No offense to Cotto, but he still needs to become a larger name until Floyd looks his direction
