It did take Cotto a little while to get used to Quintana's southpaw movement, but he caught up to him in a big way. Cotto did what he was supposed to and Quintana knew he was in no way ready to continue.

Nah it was a close fight until Cotto landed that bodyshot.

He MAY have been a live dog till he got destroyed but he did get destroyed.

Quite frankly Cotto was wearing quintana down effectively, round after round u could see cotto's shots taking effect on quintana. My favorite performance by cotto to date. easily.

When Cotto switched stances, he brutalized Quintana

Yeah Cotto did destroy him. Infact, it looked like he was toying with Quintana at times. Cotto was unmarked after the fight while, as soon as he turned up the heat, he knocked out a badly beat Quintana. Quintana's face showed every punch Cotto landed, and was already swelling after the 2nd rd, the right eye. Cotto probably could have ended it a round earlier if he turned up the heat in rds 2-4.

Quintana did do very well but Cotto killed him in the last round and he was badly battered.

Still, there is something that no one talks about and it is Quintanas style in that fight. Cotto was moving up so Quintana felt like he was the bigger/stronger man and pretty much traded with Cotto alot. That was a huge mistake. If Quintana knew Cotto would be that big & strong and just decided to stay on the outside and box all fight then I think he could still possibly give Cotto alot of trouble. It was just a bad game plan because they thought they would be the bigger/stronger guy.

It kind of compares to Tito vs Joppy. Joppy was a good boxer & mover but he felt like he would be bigger & stronger then Tito so he went toe to toe with him and got killed. If he had moved then he may have given Tito alot of trouble. Thats why I think Quintana probally feels like if he fought Cotto again then he could do the same things he did in the 1st fight except better and for longer since he wouldnt ingage with Cotto as much this time around

Quintana has a way of wilting and appearing weak in his fights. The way it looked to most people Cotto was doing slightly more damage than he actually was - but Quintana was definately not liking the hip/back/kidney/liver/armpit/shoulder shots he was taking.

If Cotto destroyed Quintanna, then who was the guy handing Paul Williams his first loss just recently?

I don't think Quintanna was doing too bad till he got hit in the back, right over his liver. Had the fight continued much longer he would have gotten seriously hurt though. I think if he rematched Cotto, he would respect his power this time and try to outbox him.

The back shot doesnt make a difference. Cotto landed numerous hard head shots just prior to the knockdown. Quintana was on his way out. Cotto figured his movement out quick, and the ring was huge. He can box from the start and it'd be the same result.

In terms of the scoring Quitanna held his own. But in terms of the fight, Cotto beat the schit out of him.
