Willie Pep was known more as a "pure boxer" than Ray Robinson.

Walker Smith and Henry Armstrong are probably the two greatest fighters ever, but the question asks about "pure boxing", which kind of complicates the question.

Robinson was more aggressive and open and got hit more than most guys would think of as "pure boxers".
