Julian Jackson was a massive 1-punch puncher. gets my vote for sure. Then Mugabi, then maybe benn, then Pavlik, then Hagler, then Lamatta.

I think its a misconception that Hagler and Lamotta were big punchers. The guys could crack, but they scored there KO's by wearing guys down. Lamotta couldnt punch that well at all, he has a terrible KO percentage. Pavlik has heavier hands then both guys, but lacks the snap to be a 1-punch KO artist

I went with Benn because someone left out Jackson. I remember when he fought Herol Graham and his corner were about to throw the towell in then WHAM! he caught Graham with a peach, when you watch the replay you can see he is spark out from contact, it took him ages to come round.

I felt, and still feel, so sad watching that fight. Herol Graham is one of the most underrated modern defensive and general boxing geniuses and him losing that fight after giving Jackson such a thorough whipping was just too much. It made me want to cry.

He really never did reach his potential though. He had the ability to be utterly brilliant but was just so inconsistent! He was only ever beaten by the top fighters of the times but he was still beaten by fighters he should have put a clinic on against.

Yep, for pure technical ability he was amazing. Ingle used to take him round the roughest pubs in Sheffield with a pair of gloves and bet money that no onw would be able to land on him. trouble with his style was that it wasn't age friendly, it depended to much on reflexes which old father time isn't too generous with.

Jackson vs Graham.

Graham was putting on a boxing clinic and I believe the doctor gave Jackson only one more round until he was going to stop it because of the cut and the beating Jackson was taking.
Graham got too aggressive, wanted to force a stoppage, forgot to keep his hands up (he never really did because of his reflexes) and got caught with one of Jackson's trademark haymakers.

Someone who lists Jake LaMotta among the hardest hitting middleweights ever and does not list guys like Gerald McClellan, Stanley Ketchel, Cyclone Hart, Julian Jackson, and Rocky Graziano has little right to call others "******".

Furthermore, it is well known that Gerald was suffering from frequent headaches after the first fight with Jackson and not an unpopular belief that he was an injured man going INTO the Benn fight.
