No way. I think Cotto is a great fighter, but Mayweather is all wrong for him. The openings are there for Mayweather to potshot, and May is too hard to hit to the body.

But that's my opinion, it shouldn't prevent the fight from actually taking place. It's never good to say "we know what would happen, so why bother?"

Let the guys who have earned it sort things out inside the ring.

And I'd rather watch Cotto-Floyd than Oscar-Floyd II. It would have some excitement to it.

I totally agree with this post, especially the bold part.

I've already seen Oscar try to beat Floyd, and fail. Now he is just a year older and a year farther past his prime. I'm not everyone, so I don't know for sure how well Floyd will hold up against an offensive machine like Cotto. What I do know is that Cotto deserves that chance more and that I'd much rather see it than see a rerun against De La Hoya.

I understand your guys' view. Really though, is it Oscar's fault? Mayweather accepted the fight, but you gotta believe Cotto would have accepted a fight with Oscar before Floyd anyways.

I just didn't understand the reason for hating on DLH. DLH could make money fighting anyone, but he chose the toughest test. Oscar could have made $$$ fighting Chavez Jr.

Your point is well taken. Oscar can make money fighting anyone. My objection specifically is to the "gift to the fans" bull**** for the Forbes fight. He is getting very well paid to fight on HBO against someone who should be severely overmatched. Not only will he make a nice payday for a tune up, it serves the dual purpose of generating massive publicity for the Mayweather fight, of which he is also the promoter. What others may call a gift, I call totally self serving.

This isn't about some animus towards Oscar; it's about not wanting to see him and Floyd again. Will v. Want if you will. Oscar does NOT have a better chance at beating Floyd than Cotto and while I'd expect Floyd to win a Cotto fight, it would be infinitely more exciting and challenging.

I thought that Rold's comments on the Klitschkos, particularly Wladimir, were rather hars, and in my opinion, well off the mark. And..........just imagine picking out Rocky marciano's time as being one of the "five" (in Rold's opinion) best eras on heavyweight boxing...Marciano....for heaven's sake. many of his opponents had practically to be led into the ring, and propped against the ropes, in case they couldn't get up from the stool........Fooey !! As for mayweather-Oscar 2, this is purely a money grab, and i for one wouldn't bother paying for it. I didn't pay for the first one either, and when I actually saw it, I was pleased I hadn't. I'd rather watch Emanuel Augustus with a well matched opponent, any day.
