Why does he have to be in a war? That makes no sense at all. If he beats Cotto easily without going to war wouldn't that just prove that he is that much better than the fighters of his era. PBF has shown plenty of heart and pride over his career. Its doesn't matter if people pay to him lose as long as they pay is what matters.

Cotto should just keep calling Mayweather out til he agrees the fight. FLoyd even said on Raw he never backs down from a challenge so Cotto go the Hatton way and abuse him. It is the only way you will get the fight.

I really don't have doubt in my mind that PBF would and will beat Cotto. That is still just my opinion. I can still have no doubt in my opinion and it still not be a FACT. Its only not a fact because the fight has not happened yet.

I don't see where the hypocrisy is. I think he sees that Floyd is obsessed with fighting Oscar again someone he has already fought and beat, so what better way to get Mayweather to NOTICE HIM than to get Oscar to fight him. That's the reason he wanted to get the Oscar fight, sure it would be for money too but it was to get people to know him since casual ****** fans only give a **** about Oscar and nobody else AND get Mayweather to finally recognize him as the #1 contender. For some reason, beating him gets you known even though Oscar hasn't beaten anyone of note in what seems like decades. As for real fights, Gomez is just the warmup to unification. Since Cotto didn't get an Oscar fight, he'll go through the harder way by unifying and see if Floyd will finally decide to fight him. Cotto is essentially going to clean the division out to get his shot at Floyd Mayeather.

People wanted Cotto to fight Williams, and he was going to as the 3rd fight this year. Williams lost to someone Cotto beat and lost his title. That was their plan. Fight Gomez as warmup, Fight Cintron/Margarito winner to unify WBA/IBF titles, and get Williams end of year for his WBO. If he did all that, Floyd would have had to fight him for the Undisputed Welterweight Title. That obviously won't happen now but he can at least bring 2 title belts to the fold in a matchup with Floyd.

I think if you have to call out a fighter or insult him to get a #1 ranked fighter a shot for the title, that's pretty insulting, so I think Cotto doing it the harder way by picking up other fighters title belts like Juan Diaz has been doing is better for him.
