I am not worried, it is Juan's time and he will put it on Nate and garner me 50k in points during the process.

      ok...

juan is a on another level than campbell but, the only thing that worries me is that campbells backs up against the wall and for him to lose this fight would put him back on espn... so that makes him dangerous...hopefully diaz don,t under estimate him...

I'm rooting for Juan because I want to see a Diaz/Pacquiao showdown but if Nate does pull off the upset then good for him.

BTW, in no way is Julio Diaz one-dimensional.
I just can't get around how Freitas was coming out of retirement for the Diaz fight. Freitas hasn't been the same since the Corrales fight. Julio Diaz was ducking Campbell's mandatory, so I'm not sure that Julio Diaz was on a level above Campbell either.

Maybe I'm underestimating Diaz but I never saw anything special in the way he was brought up by Main Events or in the way that he fights. He looks pretty basic, coming in behind a high guard and throwing a lot of punches. He has a tendency to follow through with his right hands in a chopping fashion and then to drop his hand. I see a lot of crudeness and rawness in the way he fights.

Usually a pro improves and adds new wrinkles to his game after he's been fighting for awhile. He hasn't really changed the way he fights and has yet to really step it up. The talent at lightweight is pretty thin right now with Casamayor being done and people actually getting excited about a guy like Katsidis. That said, who has Diaz really fought that could have helped him to improve as a fighter? He hasn't been tested yet.

I like Diaz as a person, but he lacks that special something to justify him as one of the best fighters in the world. Campbell is no world beater, but I think he has enough juice to get by Diaz.

I think it was DHB's Gabriel Montoya who told me about Diaz lacking that "Wow Factor". What does Diaz do? He walks forward, flat-footed and using momentum off his front-foot and chops with punches. He does that pretty consistently but it's been against slow fighters. Guys like Suico and Sim, they had nowhere to go because they can't move. Diaz's flat-footed style is going to be against him because Campbell moves well and can counter punch.

I've only seen Diaz fight in one style, the way I just described. How about if he finds that he can't be effective in that style, what does he do? Can he go out there and box his way to a decision? Can he muster enough power to turn a fight around? I just don't think he has enough options to be effective against a versatile, live fighter. Who has he fought that you could really describe as versatile or live?

special something? he averages landing 40 punches a round on people and his opponents only land about 20% of their punches on him. he also has been making fighters flat out quit 2/3 of the way through a fight, and thats against top level guys. name me another fighter that does that...there aint none.

why in the hell would he 'box' his way to decision, when he can pretty much easily beat people by decision by outworking them with a variety of punches. he ended up outboxing Julio Diaz whenever they fought long range with a stiff jab, which also helped close the distance. and Julio Diaz was coming off one-sided wins over Quiles and Jesus Chavez. yea, Jesus's leg gave out, but up to that point he was being completely outboxed anyway, so it really doesnt matter.

Campbell has a great chance to win, simply because of how good and focused he is, but saying Juan Diaz aint anything special? cmon now. and hes still very young and fighting at a weight that he doesnt even need to be fighting at, because he could easily fight at weight classes 5 or even 10lbs below what he fights at now.

btw who did Julio 'duck'? and explain the situation, I never heard about that
