I actually made this comparison, more in saying I hoped people didn't view it like this, a few days before Pavlik-Taylor II in some thread or another. Both boxers are gifted athletes who, on paper, should be expected to perform at the most elite level. Both fell short- but, to be fair, I think Taylor avoided being pegged with someone like Judah with his showing in the second Pavlik fight. He proved he had a large amount of mental toughness and just needed to open up a bit more, maybe work on some endurance techniques. All in all, he impressed most people- including myself.

If you have a fighter like Zab who falls apart mentally, which I think he does, and losses focus, etc. You're in trouble. It's much harder to correct the problems, or even discover the root of it, when you're working with the human mind.

Having a physical flaw is much easier to overcome. If Taylor can increase his stamina, which isn't impossible by any stretch, he'll improve his fight game by leaps and bounds. If Jermain found the ability to throw at the rate Pavlik did and do it for all twelve, while still maintaining the skill he showed, well, as people are saying...I think he'd still have quite the career ahead of him.

I can't say Zab is going to have any such luck, even if he is more gifted when compared to his division; which you could argue he is.

their similarities is that they are both fast, they are both inconsistent at times in the ring, but for different reasons. Those reasons are what seperate them in drastically different ways that render this entire thread nothing short of a really terrible grasp for straws, it should be obvious to those who have follow both fighters since their inception.

P4P Zab has more natural talent. Better speed and power just lacks in the last few rounds of a fight. Taylor only did that against Pavlik really. Both are quick for there weights and have great power. The only correlation between the two I have noticed are that they have been world champions and have gassed out late.

Taylor might be athletically gifted but not nearly as gifted as Judah is and mentally Taylor is a lot stronger than Judah, the rematch with Pavlik was proof of this.

Taylor lacks stamina, I don't really have any idea why because he looks like he is in great shape but he tires very easily, maybe because he is nervous, Judah doesn't have problems with his stamina but rather his concentration during fights.
