Calzaghe is much to seasoned for Chad right now, who still has much to prove in his own right. It would be good to see Joe face someone as fast as he is though.

Dawson has less experience and needs some more demanding opposition. I would love to see the fight in the future, but Joe isn't gonna be around that much longer.

Dawson is going to be special, Calzaghe already is special. That is the difference, this fight will never happen and I think and it will be speculated about like Jones vs Calzaghe is in the next 10 years. This is going to be one of those fatansy fights.

If they fought at the end of '08 I'd take Dawson. Kid has the goods. I have discussed my position on this fight in depth in another thread, but I think Dawson has too many advantages in this one to lose.

The warning signs are there. Dude is 25 and been dropped a few times, Floyd Sr isn't impressed by him either but that's Floyd Sr.

We will see how Chad will do. I wouldn't start comparing him to Calzaghe or Hopkins juuuuust yet.

Chad is too smart to fall into BHop's traps as he isnt fully an inside fighter. Chad is excellent at fighting like the taller guy so I think he could get a UD or SD against Hop. It wont ever happen though. Bhop wont take that kind of risk.

Now, as far as Calzaghe, Joe Cal's fighting style is a nightmare for anyone that fights at a specific pace. Joe reminds me of a mongoose fight a cobra, he's relentless and comes from different angles.


He may not have the power to put Dawson down due to hand injuries he's suffered through his career, but he would definitely present a new puzzle for Chad to solve. Chad is great at examine the situation at hand, great at studying his opponent through out the fight and exposing a small area of weakness and turning into a major problem.
