Has Bob Arum "seriously" tried to get down to and negotiate a fight with Floyd. Its some of that as well. Floyd and Arum aren't exactly friends. Cotto(AND HIS FANS) better just focus on Gomez.

So Arum and Cotto now have to beg Floyd for a fight? The video is clear as day.

Larry Merchant: "So Floyd, are u saying that you're not going to fight Miguel Cotto"

Floyd: "I have nothing else to prove in the sport of boxing"

Its VERY clear who's the one who doesnt want the fight.

he has to fight legit top welterweights, cotto, williams, margarito, clottey, contron
well first off, lets get this thing about mayweather avoiding out of your head. I don't think mayweather is scared of cotto at all. the only fighters that he would be scared of are forrest, mosley and williams. and even williams is nothing now. but I don't think he is scared, the cotto fight is not big enough for him to take. I believe he will fight mayweather some day. but considering that cotto-may won't make half the money of the hatton fight, there isn't a point for him to take it. he will beat him no doubt.

If Arum didn't make an offer to Floyd(like $8 million as it was for Margarito) then you can't say Floyd ducked him. He has to be offered a fight. Calling someone out and trying to make a fight aint the same thing.

The thing I don't understand about some boxing fans is that they allow emotions to cloud logical thinking. When Floyd was calling out Oscar and Shane (at the time two undefeated champions) since he was at 130. I am talking about the best fighters IN THE WORLD, why would he be afraid of an up and coming guy who deserves more than a shot? Would the fight be big now? YES. Will it be bigger with Cotto's growing fanbase? Hell YES? Will the fight happen? OH HELL TO THE YESSIR.

Dont u think its a bit risky to wait till 09 for this fight? Yes it might be bigger by then, but how big will it be if Cotto were to lose by then?

THE FACT IS THERE: PBF is ducking a fight with the top WWs, specially Cotto. PERIOD, END OF THE STORY.

I have one account and I'm a fan of boxers not the journalists or fans who feel the need to play hall monitor and criticize boxer's every move. You think I should be banned for that?

I think that's why Cotto is fighting Gomez then the Margarito-Cintron 2 winner. Cotto has no business losing either of those two fights. In the event that he loses either then he wouldn't have been able to beat Mayweather anyway. It is a risk, but Floyd Mayweather doesn't ever need to fight again anyway. He will, but he doesn't need to. So, he's putting the pressure on Cotto to make people think that Cotto might even be the favorite. It is risky, but only Cotto fans seem to have a problem with it.
