he has to fight legit top welterweights, cotto, williams, margarito, clottey, contron
What's with uneducated fans coming up with the notion that the best fighter in the world would be afraid of other fighters? It's an asinine notion to tell the truth.

Larry Merchant is the type of guy who would cry if he broke a nail, but he has the audacity to question a world class boxer's heart. I lost respect for him when he did the same thing to Shane Mosley after he beat Adrian Stone. The only reason people like him is because he picks on whoever fans say they hate the most. He wouldn't dream of grilling a currently popular fighter. He's a little girl.

Ok...fine. You don't like Mayweather-DLH 2...we get it; really we do.

BUT instead of mowing down all real challengers what did Cotto do? He signed to fight Gomez and the winner of Margarito-Cintron 2. Not exactly a murderer's row. DLH is actually a tougher fight than those two put together, especially when you consider that Floyd is too small to hurt DLH.

Unfortunately, the day Lil' Floyd whups that a$$ is a ways away. Cotto fans should just be grateful they get to live in ignorant bliss for another 12 - 18 months because believe when I write this, eating crow tastes like ****. It's not anything close to fun being this wrong and when it happens it hurts your whole being. When Lil' Floyd puts it on Miguel Cotto you're going to know what it's like and you're going to wish you never demanded the fight. Believe me when I tell you that.

this account might have to banned as well. It would be nice to able to read this forum without wondering whether this wierdo is lurking behind.

Why does this guy need to simultaneously post with this many accounts?

By Barry Wilner, AP Sports Writer
NEW YORK — It might be time for Miguel Cotto to head west.
At the end of his journey could be a huge payday and a unification of the welterweight title.
The WBA champion defended his crown Saturday night with a sensational unanimous decision over a relentless Shane Mosley. It was Cotto's fourth fight at Madison Square Garden, which has become a home away from home for the Puerto Rican champ.
It's unlikely, though, that the winner of the WBC championship match next month between titleholder Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton will walk into such an environment to face Cotto.

                    Particularly Mayweather.
"I'll fight any big names: Oscar (De La Hoya), Mayweather, Hatton, anyone top-ranked, whatever the company tells me," Cotto said after his 31st straight win. "I'm ready for the big names. No excuses. What the company wants me to do." His company, through promoter Bob Arum, usually matches up Cotto with dangerous fighters. There's none more dangerous than Mayweather, most likely in Las Vegas.
"The fans, the company, my staff are great," the 27-year-old Cotto said. "I am ready for anyone."
