He's old now, but Kevin Willis, used to play for the Rockets among others. He was 7'0", 220, but strong and quick as %$#@. Has a black belt in karate as well and played pro till he was 44 so I think he would have had the mind set and determination needed.
NBA basketball players who you think would make good boxers

As an NBA fan I like this thread, but as a boxing fan I find it a bit indulgent because it seems to feed the myth that the "real" heavyweights are in the NBA and NFL. In reality though if all those guys did nothing but box their whole lives, it would be unlikely we would get a boxer out of it who could compete with the likes of a Klitschko.
It just takes different skills, different mindset, different physiology
For one, muscle is terrible for a boxer to have. So you see NBA players who are muscular and you think they could box? Well, they'd all have to atrophy first.Comment

I agree muscle and none of that really mean anything in boxing. Im just saying these guys looks more closely resemble boxers then football or baseball players looks do really. Football is more of a heavy set geared sport, while basketball is long and lean, and i think boxers aside from tyson are generally better when they can move and are long and thin.Comment
