i think the issue of too/small too big can go both ways

someone like hatton who only goes a few pounds over his usual weight shouldnt have any excuses

but someone like winky who goes, what 15+ pounds over his usual fighting weight for the first time have a valid argument. yes he chose to do that fight but the guy just wants a pay day. yes you can say he lost fair and square but you can't say bernard is a better fighter based on that fight
