Clottey is a monster and as what seems to be the current welterweight trend, people duck monsters. I feel bad for him. He should just knock Bob Arum out in public, maybe that will get him into the front pages.

whoever said Clottey is a gatekeeper, lolololol, really? I guess he is the gatekeeper thar people can't get passed. Thats ok, because Feliciano whooped Cintron's hand on the inside, and imagine what Clottey would do on the inside to Cintron, it would be wonderfully horrific. Clottey is not the class of the division, but he is amongst the second tier fighters such as Margarito, Cintron, Quintana, and Williams. Also, the most important thing that kept surfacing in that interview was how Clottey stated he didn't get any step-aside money. He should be given that and be patient until he gets his mandatory shot. Or if he wants to fight, how about durable guys with decent records but not much else like Jackson Onse Bonsu (sp?) and Qauli Said or whatever his name is as well.

Who cant get passed him? Shamone Alvarez? how is he second tier if he already lost to dudes in the second tier? Clottey is there with the types of Gomez, Berto, and them, but even then i see those guys with more potential because at least they havent had their chance like Clottey. The thing is, could Clottey take Cintron's punch like Feliciano did? He is a better fighter than Feliciano but i dont think he would last as long as him.

You ever see his fight with Baldy? Watch it and tell me if there was a winner. As for margo, he could've, should've, whatever with that fight. Clottey whether he was injured terribly only he will know, dominated Antonio until his supposed injury. Otherwise, who has beaten Clottey? And neither loss was without controversy and definitely the winners didn't look good doing it. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Clottey did what Cintron couldn't, and that is take margarito's shots, so the chin in question is Kermit's. Clottey eats Cintron alive and if they ever meet, I put an all point bet with you on it (not much given that I don't have many, lol).

Clottey just doesn't bring $ to the table. It does suck for him but that's just the way it works right now. His shell defense gives huge fits to other fighters and while he's a remarkable fighter it's high risk/low reward. I understand why he's not getting the big fights but he has to keep knocking on the door. He really hasn't defeated anyone of merit yet, the biggest name on his resume came up from two divisions and was on a losing streak. He's got to get in the ring with someone who needs him just as much, like a Luis Collazo or even a Zab Judah (who has absolutely NO business being mentioned on a PPV especially with another fighter who is also coming off a loss!)

He did not come close to losing his last fight. the scorecards had him way ahead. the idea that williams beat marg and marg beat cintron, so that means williams will beat cintron does not hold up. if you believe that, i have to question what you know about boxing. not to mention, cintron was very green when he fought margarito. and had marg realized that paul had no pop in his punches prior to round 7, he would have wrecked paul. all paul did was hit him in the arms for the first 6 rounds. everyone ringside saw it, and if you watch the fight again you will as well.

and he has plenty else besides great power... he can box very well. you think manny steward is going to have a fighter that cant box? and what makes you think he is weak minded (im not going to comment on the baby thing, because that is just ****** to say)? I grew up with kermit, from the time he moved here from PR to the time we graduated high school, and the last thing i would call him is weak minded.

clottey is a monster??? he has had two chances at a title and lost both. he hasnt knocked anyone out in 4 years, plus, he is no spring chicken. i would not call him a monster.

I dont think anyone should have any problems with guys trying to unify titles instead of fighting mandatorys. a unified champion is what everyone has wanted for a long time. Cintron and Cotto (IBF and WBO) are moving towards that unification now, so clottey can wait.
