Could Witter become a top 5 Welterweight if he moved up?

In an interview before Witter said how he wants a big fight like Cotto vs Mosley and said he would be willing to move up to get one if Hatton doesn't fight him so what you think?

I think the only problem would be against guys like Margarito and Cintron who are a lot bigger than he is but he is still a very awkward fighter and I'd even fancy him to give Mayweather some troubles with his very unorthodox style.

Mayweather would destroy Witter... Witter just aint all that.. Witter is susceptable to straight right hands.. Mayweather would hit him at will.. and stop him..

i feel it is highly unlikely that witter can beat any of the top guys at welter! he is not even very impressive at 140!

Witter should stay at 140 as long as he can. At 147 he would have to get in a very long line of tough contenders, plus American TV still hasn't forgiven him for the Judah debacle.

i think so. any of the top WW would have a lot of trouble against a witter on top form. witter beats cotto imo.

He has the skills and power but the Judah fight was a sham and a shame on British boxing.

I think Mayweather, Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, Quintana, Williams and a few more would make fairly easy work of him, so NO.

not sure as he can make 140 there is no point in moving up. how is he unimpressive at 140 ok he has had a few dull fights but overall is the best active 140lb at the moment.

He should stick with 140 until he can't make the weight. Though, towards the end of his peak, if he wants to cash in on the 147 cash, more power to him.
