Anyways, styles make fights and Quintana's style will always give Williams problems.

Editor: At what point in the fight did you feel it was going to be a long night for you?

Paul Williams: In the 1st round, I knew I couldn't get into my rhythym like I wanted to. It was around the 3rd round, that's when I knew I was in a bit of trouble. I told myself, I was going to suck it up, and keep pushing my will. Whatever I have to do, I'm going to try. I didn't go to the body like I was suppossed to, like we've been working on in training camp. I was mostly going for the head. He was moving, slipping and sliding. I don't make excuses, I just didn't show up.

Editor: You said that you couldn't get off tonight. Did that happen at all during training camp?

PW: I'm not going to make any excuses, or nothing, sir. All I can say is, I didn't get off. Training camp went well, I had good sparring partners, everything went swell. Quintana was the man tonight. He showed up, and took the championship. He took the belt from the champ.

Editor: What can you do to make sure that next time you fight him, or next time you fight at all, that you will be able to get off?

PW: I've just got to go back to the drawing board. We'll sit down, we'll go over the tape, and I'll get my strategy again. I'll try something different.

Editor: Do you want your next fight to be against Carlos Quintana?

PW: It don't matter. I'll definitely take another fight with him, whenever I get these stitches out. I'm going to go my manager, Mr. Peterson, and Al and Dan, and figure out who I'm going to fight. My main thing is getting back home, and going fishing and stuff. I just want to relax.
he just made me a fan.

Holy ****... I have NEVER heard someone not make a single excuse in a fight that they lost by such a close margin. EVER.

Paul Williams is probably the most sportsmanlike fighter ever I would think if he takes his losses like that.

You gotta respect Pauls attitude but I just hope he cuts that clownish mohawk on a fight night.

Yeah, but Mosely didn't make any excuses in the post fight interview after his fight with Cotto. He just said it was a close fight that could go either way.

But that's the only other instance I can think of in a close fight. I think he'll be a champion again. He's only 26 and has a good career ahead of him.

Paul Williams is a very likable guy.

He's a classy guy. A second- or third-tier fighter, but a classy guy and I hope he recovers.
