i completely agree. De La Hoya is a much tougher opponent than Mayorga so hopefully Cotto gets some stick for this fight

I don't know why everybody is so pissed that Mayorga is fighting Cotto, I think the fight should happen, I would like to see Cotto stack up as many notable names on his resume as possible. scroll down Cotto's resume and up until you hit Justin Jukko I bet you will recognize every name there, either past or present world champions or people who fought for world champions and served as gate keepers for a lot of great guys, guys with heart, name and respect and Mayorga ain't no chump, I don't think he will win but he ain't chump and this fight CERTAINLY makes sense especially when you look at who Floyd is fighting again..

in all honesty why does Cotto have to run threw EVERYBODY? why Floyd gets to fight only 1 time this year against an undeserving opponent and do nothing for the division while Miguel has to go threw Mosley, Cintron-Margarito and Quintana? why not let Miguel get a few of those money fights and let the lesser known to the world champions square off and unify their belts? Cotto is a warrior so he'll fight whoever but I think it's pretty ****ty everybody got all these demands from Cotto now when all he's been doing is fighting the best..

perfect scenario right here.. Cintron beats Margarito, Quintana fights somebody and the 2 winners suare off to unify their portions of the titles. since Floyd is waiting until the near year end to even fight then Cotto takes on the winner of that whole ordeal and the winner then places themselves in perfect position to face Floyd early next year for a show down, meanwhile Miguel can rack up names on his resume just like Floyd is doing and the lesser known names earn their bones, hows that? regardless how you want to paint the picture though a Mayorga fight wouldn't hurt Cotto's credibility, it could only help him..

Joshua Clottey should also fall somewhere in that title mix because lately he's been getting ****ed around and **** ain't cool, to him "Kermit Cintron is *****" so we'll see whats what.

I'm not saying that mayorga is a bad boxer but its a step down for cotto. and I'm not agreeing with mayweather's choice in opponents although I'm one of the few who is excited about the dlh rematch. I'm just saying that cotto has gomez and mayroga for his next 2 fights and that doesn't make sense. he should be looking at cintron, margarito, or even a quintana rematch for his belt. Thats alot better than mayorga and gomez.

would you rather have gomez next for cotto or mayorga?

i think he deserves an "easier" fight, but i think your right that both of those guys in a row is not what he needs to be doing

waddup homie. I just got a question, how can you support the De La Hoya rematch yet question Cotto facing Gomez and Mayorga? Miguel just came off fighting Shane Mosley, a Shane with a 5 win streak and was/is a better and harder fight than Oscar any day, I have no problem with Floyd NOR Miguel taking these step downs because of the names they will be adding to their resumes and money that they will make but no way do I bash 1 and not the other ya feel me. I can't say I condone the unnecessary Floyd fight and don't condone the unnecessary Cotto fights when they are BOTH Welterweight champions, BOTH 1 & 2 the best of that class and BOTH should be fighting each other yet due to Floyd it hasn't happened yet.. not attacking you or anything I'm just asking, you a cool dude and much respect but I was just wondering what you'll respond to that.. 100

I put fourth because that is what Arum says, he would probably fight 4 times this year and that Mayorga would only happen in July if Margarito-Cintron winner is injured, otherwise that could/would possibly be an end of the year fight.
                    i could of guessed that

I just said that I don't completely support mayweather's choice in opponents only cuz I'd rather see him fight cotto, mosley, margarito... but I'm still excited about the dlh match cuz I believe dlh actually has a shot at beating mayweather considering that Floyd Senior is training him and the 24/7 special will be great because of it.
I'm neither supportive nor excited about Cotto fighting gomez or mayorga. Cuz I know that cotto will take care of both fighters quite easily where as mayweather-dlh will be a hard fought battle from a technical stand point.
