Roy might've beaten them all but atleast they have a better chance at beating Jones than guys like Frazier, Kelly, Telesco...

Lets not forget, Montell Griffin beat Roy Jones, Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson, anything can happen in boxing. McClellan beat Jones in the amateurs.

If Roy beat all of them his resume would be top 15, maybe top 10 even though he would probably be favoured against all of them. Those are some solid names to beat.

I honestly believe that the main reason that we talk about a lot of these other cats is because they never fought roy and thus were never exposed for not being on his level. If he had blown away the likes of Steve Collins, Gerald Mcclellan, Nigel Benn etc.. we would just be talking about them as being guys who never were in his class the same way we talk about telesco, Kelly and Frazier to a degree. Part of what makes those guys note worthy is that they never got that ass whipped by Roy.

Griffin was always a really good and underrated fighter to me. I think Roy does not get enough credit for beating him the way he did. And honestly I thought at light Heavy telesco was a tough pros[ect before some personal issues sort of held him back. but once again people crapped over these guys for the way Roy beat them with such ease.

griffins not a better fighter... did he give roy some problems? yes... but roy caught up to him... hence the knockdown... and even if roy never hit him when he was down and he got back up... griffin was done at that point... he wouldnt of lasted the rest of that fight.. no way... no possible way... technically he got the W.... the rematch told the story of who really was the better fighter.. and what would of happened in the 1st fight.. if he didnt get Disqualified...

Roy would have beaten all of them.

I hope Calzaghe doesnt fight Jones now. If you cant get an accurate representation of whose the better fighter (Jones being passst his best) then whats the point.

Prime Jones would have beaten Calzaghe. He'd have beaten Hopkins again, but I wonder if he ever really believed he could do it.

Roy beat a prime Toney and Hopkins and we all know they are great fighters even if you dont like them (i really hate Hopkins). Fighting Roy Jones and losing to him doesn't detract from a fighter at all. All those fighters could put up a fight Eubank was an excellent boxer, Benn had power in both hands and could put you down in one punch look at the unfortunate G-man fight who beat roy as an AM.
But put off all those fighters Calzaghe would give Roy the most problems being as he changes styles alot has a solid chin, amazing workrate and handspeed close to RJJ's.
Collins unfortuantly would get absolutely outclassed but not KO'd he was known not for his ability but for his power and granite chin.
I'm pretty sure RJJ beats all of them in his prime but they would've given him some of his hardest fights ever.

Benn would have knocked Jones out, Jones didn`t want anything to do with Benn.

i dont think roy thought ANYONE could beat him... i dont think he had a doubt in his mind about his abilitys.. neither did anyone else

Difference is those people (McClellan, Benn, Collins) were already world champions and accomplished fighters unlike Telesco, Kelly and Frazier who were up and comers.

Toney and Hopkins lost to Jones (Toney was humiliated) but their careers weren't ruined, they aren't called bums.

Woods and Gonzales lost badly to Jones but they have had good careers too after losing to Roy.

All of those guys listed had a shot at beating Jones, I don't see any of them beating Jones on paper, some of them might be beaten badly (Collins) but anything can happen.
Fighters you COULD beat don't count in your resume, only the ones you beat.

Roy has a great resume anyway, could've been better, could've been worse, that's that. I'm not criticizing Roy for fighting bums or even criticizing him for not fighting those fighters who were listed.
