No I'm not. The scores were almost identical in the two fights. Add to that the fact that both guys were hyped as "the most feared guy in boxing's best division" and the fact that they were basically beaten by a guy with even less to lose by a narrow, but unanimous margin and it's a wonder that the poll is that one sided.

I said Margarito. It was tough to choose, but if you look at it, Margarito had the option to fight Cotto. He took more money insted + wanting to keep his belt + thought Williams was the easier guy to beat.

Williams didn't have any other options at the time so he fought Quintana. Margarito was generally regraded more as the "Most feared man in boxing" plus he had more of the idiotic fans who claimed he was robbed. Williams hasn't had too many claiming he was robbed.

That's why I say Margarito, but Williams comes in a really close second.

Margarito has been lined up for a Cotto fight for awhile and would have had it last year if he hadn't lost. He basically was forced to win 2 additional fights to get that Cotto fight back after losing to Williams.

That and the fact that Margarito exposed himself as a little bit of a hypocrit and a genuinely sore loser whereas Williams just exposed himself as being not as good as the hype. That's all I'm saying.
I just took the QUESTION to be as who lost more convicingly, that's all. I still think Williams' loss was worse. Since scores were FAIRLY similar(like you said) I'd say Paul's loss was worse due to the "punishment" he took. I definetly respect your opinion though.

But do you think Margarito was robbed?

In my mind both fights were close enough to worry about a robbery, but they were scored dead on. The right guy got each decision. The only reason I voted that Margarito lost worse was because it cost him a direct fight with Cotto and because he basically showed his true whining, classless colors. Williams really didn't lose anything other than the fight and hype, which Margarito lost also.

Williams's loss was a huge upset and he looked like complete trash from round 1. This guy is damaged goods after taking that beating from Margarito. Margarito was never hurt by Williams in their fight. He just lost because he wasn't active in the first half of the fight.

Williams lost any shot at getting a fight with a top welterweight.
Margarito lost when Williams lost to Qunitiana as well, though.

I agree, haterfree, was clearly hating. He just isn't man enought to cop to it yet. Allow him to grow up a little, I'm sure he'll either mature or change his avatar to a name he can live with....
