    The Williams bandwagon...

It's the new Miranda or Margarito bandwagon. It's a load of rubbish tbh. Williams is favoured to beat Mayweather by some because of his height, reach and good workrated which is fair but the thing most people don't take into account is the fact he misses a lot of his punches and they aren't exactly hard either. Mayweather is VERY hard to hit let alone get scoring points on and Williams will be punching air all night long. Mayweather is also very accurate and a lot faster than Williams. I don't see this fight being much trouble for Mayweather like a lot of you claim it would be.

I think Cotto would do better vs Mayweather than Williams would but maybe Williams would hold the edge in a Cotto-Williams fight. Styles make fights and I don't neccesarily think Williams' style would do that well against Mayweather. Cotto is also very capable of beating Williams though, with his long torso Cotto's body shots would be the key to victory in that fight.

Some people on here are actually saying that Williams is a future ATG. He's not even top 2 in his division.

He's not going to be able to make 147 for ever either, he might be forced to go to 154 as he ages. I don't think he will be that effective there against people his own size.

I have to disagree with you. Cotto doesn't really provide a great challenge. Even though Williams has no D it's much easier to find Cotto as opposed to fighting through Williams reach to connect. This is from Mayweather's perspective ofcourse. Cotto's defense was solid against Mosley though.

People are misled by his height and reach. I've said it a hundred times before, but there have been MUCH better WWs of Williams's size in the past, and even those guys lost at WW.

When Williams move up he will be very mediocre. Right now Floyd embarrasses him, Cotto kills him.

The guy is all off balance, all the time, has no defense, no power, no snap on his punches, ................

At 154 there are fights against Vernon Forrest, Cory Spinks, Joachim Alcine, and Sergei Dzinziruk. I'd probably pick Forrest over Williams, not sure about Spinks, and I'd choose Williams to win a close 115-113 or 116-112 over Alcine. I'm not sure about Dzinziruk.

I view him in the same regards as Cotto. Sure they have their bad tendencies but at the end of the day they find a way to win. He's just going to have to prove the naysayers wrong.

Heres all I have to say about Williams.

His average opponent has 14 wins 9 losses

                  Thats not good opposition.
Also he starves himself to have a size advantage vs naturally smaller guys. If he moved up he would get creamed.
