Patterson injured his back in the first fight.
You can see it after the first few rounds when Patterson has trouble moving his upperbody like he usually does.
The second fight was much closer when Patterson was already 37 but Ali won because of a cut.
Patterson's second fight with Ali. Patterson was 37.
The early rounds of their first fight. The first round is just clowning by Ali but it gets a bit better. Patterson was 30 years old in this fight.
Floyd didn't look too good in this fight and he seemed afraid to let his hands go but he was avoiding Ali's jab quite well early on.
Patterson vs Henry Cooper. This fight was a bit before Patterson's first fight with Ali.
Patterson vs Ellis. Patterson was 33 years old in this fight.
Patterson vs Ingemar Johansson II. Patterson was 25 years old in this fight.

Interview with Mike Tyson about Patterson.
http://espn.go.com/classic/s/alimuhammadadd.html"Of all the men I fought, Sonny Liston was the scariest, George Foreman was the most powerful, Floyd Patterson was the most skilled as a boxer," Ali once said. "But the roughest and toughest was Joe Frazier. He brought out the best in me, and the best fight we fought was in Manila."Last edited by TheGreatA; 02-09-2008, 05:27 PM.Comment
