He's fought the best who were willing to face him. Remember, Hopkins backed out of a fight with Calzaghe a few years ago, and Jones avoided Joe. Both want to fight him now...

There are a few bums like Manfredo on Joe's resume, but he's never really ducked anybody. He would have fought everybody had they been willing.

If Joe hand-picked his opponents, right now he would be fighting Jones instead of Hopkins: easier win, even bigger name, younger than Hopkins. B-Hop will be a more difficult opponent, and Joe will be given little credit for beating him because of his age.

Calzaghe has cleaned the 168 division. There will always be newcomers like Bute and Froch/Inkin but calzaghe doesn't need to fight them, he has beaten everyone put in front of him and in an impressive manner apart from the reid fight where i think he broke his hands.

He fought two young prime fighters in Lacy and Kessler...cant say the same about any other fighter in any other division.
