    His chances are slim.

He is bigger than both Calzaghe and Kessler so size wouldnt be an issue and it sure would be a battle.

Calzaghe always comes to war and Pavlik has solid work rate and brutal power.

Id rather see Calzaghe vs Pavlik after both of there fights win there up coming bouts.

Infact Calzaghe v Pavlik would be one of the best wars of modern era.

kelly is not beating joe! he is 25, and by the time he is at his best joe will be gone! so its tough to even compare now bacause kelly is not near ready, hell he may never be! he has alot of flaws, and your right about alot of the bad points about him as a fighter, but he continues to win, and he has a ton of heart which has taken him much farther than anyone ever anticipated! he is good for boxing, and i see him contiuing to improve and making believers aout of many more as he has done to me! win or lose he has made a big fan out of me, and has me excited for boxing!

        Calzaghe > Kessler > Pavlik

I'm far from convinced Pavlik will beat a Jermain Taylor who has his head right.

Why is Pavlik so highly rated?

Taylor should have knocked his ass out in 2 rounds.

If you can honestly look at the two of them and not see differences then I would suggest you find another sport as you obviously don't have a clue about boxing.

I agree that the fight would look the same for the most part, but that is down to Calzaghe being as good as he is. Kessler was good technically so he was able to keep it close all the way. Pavlik wouldn't have a chance as far as that is concerned, but if you know about Calzaghes history, you'd know he hasn't had it all his own way against some awkward, unpredictable pressure fighters in the past. Pavlik might even tempt him into a war.
Your analysis matches my opinion of this.. but i'd like to add that with time pavlik's progression could lead him to be the type of agressor that would make this fight very close to call.

if Pavlik went to war with Calzaghe he'd get knocked out. pavlik has a poor chin. He was doing some weird chicken dance against Jermaine Taylor for about 2 minutes.

if they went to war Calzaghe would get knocked out IMO. Calzaghe wouldn't do that. Calzaghe picks guys apart, he doesn't just blast them out of the ring.. I'm sure you knew this.. I think Pavlik would need to take a fight at SMW b4 he goes for the champ though.. Although his taylor bout will be at 166 so maybe the weight difference won't affect pavlik so much.

I disagree, i think he knows how to blast guys out when he puts full force into his punches like mitchell..plus his chin is amazing, Pavliks chin is poor

No one has ever looked like knocking Calzaghe down, he ate some uppercuts from Kessler that would have knocked out anyone else in the division, even if Kelly had a shade more power than Kessler, it would'nt be enough. Even If we are talking about a Joe with a post injury left, it would have been all over in two anyway, he has more stamina than Taylor and plenty more handspeed, the ref would have had to stop it. I like Kelly at middleweight however, he should stay there a bit longer then try his hand at Bute or Kessler
