Kermit sprained his right hand and wrist very badly early in his fight with Jesse Feliciano on November 23rd. Instead of favoring his injured hand or refusing to use it at all, he continued to throw his right hand with abandon, knocking his very tough opponent out in the 10th round.

OMG, I almost puked while laughing my ass off. I was liking the letter until I read this. I am a BIG KERMIT FAN and I believe Kermit will beat Tony on April. So even with my subjective point of view, that line was pathetic. I know you got to do what you got to do, but please, call it like it was... "an opponent with a chin of stone". I'll buy "courageous opponent", the very tough is just absurd.

Anyway, you could arguably say EVERYONE is ducking Paul Williams. Then again, other than Margarito, who did he beat so far? Who? Mathesse took him the whole night to beat up. So ONE fight doesn't cut it to be calling out the best WWs... PBF and Cotto. Don't get me wrong, I got PW as the third best WW. BUT HE MUST SHOW FIRST HE IS TRUELY DESERVING OF THE RECOGNITION. IMO, Quintana is a good challenge, like Mosley, Collazo and Judah would be too. Until he beats at least 3 of those 4, Cotto and PBF should not waste their time. Cotto at least has verbally agreed to face the Margarito/Cintron winner and that is well deserving of respect. In the other hand, PBF will face ODLH again... "it's all about the money...".

So even if it seems like they are ducking PW..., so did Margarito for a while. Back then when Margarito claimed he was been ducked by everyone and nobody wanted to fight him, PW call his ass publicly and was ignored by Margarito. PW had to work his way up to get a shot by becoming a mando. Why does PW deserves a better treat now that he beated Margarito? PW must continue to fight and win, stay undefeated on 2008, then the big fight will unveil on 2009. And I hope and expect to happen that way. IMO, PW is the toughest match in the WWs right now. Still, he needs to prove himself so my opinion may be validated.

Back to Kermit, it is pretty much obvious that to fight Margarito and to fight for a chance at Cotto MAKES MORE SENSE than fighting PW. All the hate threads about it just show how ignorant people in this forum may be. I hate when Mexicans lick Tony's hairy ass and claim he is "the most feared man in Boxing and unbeatable". Just like all the nuthuggers on PBF's payroll claim PBF is "THE BEST BOXER EVER and to be UNBEATABLE". (with all due respect) And how about those who ALREADY KNOW PW IS THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST. Also include all the Boricuas who think Cotto is unbeatable and that he will beat anyone in front of him by "braking them". WE NEED TO KEEP IT REAL. PBF, PW, and Cotto can beat each other out. Instead of the BOXING of the 80's (like I stated on a previous thread), we are getting **** from these boxers we idolized.

I am content to say Kermit is not the best, that could become one of the best in the future, that is a tough challenge for everyone in the WW Division and that HE has the COJONES to fight Tony after the beating he took years ago. If you keep refusing to give Kermit some proper respect, you fail to grow as a boxing fan.

Man, you hear this stuff so much and you really need to wonder where everyone gets their strange opinions from? Why, oh, why would anyone think he is ducking someone he has never fought to go and fight another guy who humiliated and demolished him in five ****ing rounds again!!!

C,mon fellas, get a grip. Read again what some parts of the letter say. Mrrupo had it pretty spot on. No fighter wants to wait 9 months with no tune up fight before having their biggest career fight while the other guy gets to have his. Thats ridiculous. Cintron is not ducking Williams. He has an opportunity to get revenge on his only loss, which in itself should make everyone give him huge props due to the circumstances of that loss, while getting the big fight with Cotto if he wins, which will then seal the date with Williams for another mega-fightlater down the track. If he can beat Margarito, and thats a big if, then this will be the best move he could ever have made.
