And even if he would, chances are that hes not as good as he once was. So i cant stand the guys who are 100% shure Vitali will win a championship fight in his first comeback-fight after a long layoff and with his fragile body.
Besides that, i agree with Peter that he will stop Maskaev early, 3th round seems to be verry realistic.

Yes i agree. And i think Peter has also the ability to beat Maskaev on points but i doubt he will hang in there for 12 rounds because he cant take Peters power. I believe Peter will be verry motivated this time and come in great shape cause he got knocked down 3 times in his last fight, now he wants to impress bigtime so the people will forget the McCline fight.

Lets all not forget that Vitali is the Champion Emeritus according to the WBC and is the mandatory for the Maskaev v Peter winner. So he will be back for sure. As for which Vitali we will get when he returns, your guess is as good as mine. Just my 2 cents. I know boxing.

It breaks my heart but I have to agree.

The first Peter-Toney fight (september '06) was an official WBC eliminator, as many thought Toney was hard done by, they fought again and Peter confirmed his superiority in the rematch early last year.

If Peter brings his A game, this is quite possible. We're talking about Maskaev, the same guy who got KO'd by much lesser competition. **** goofy Whitaker stopped him in two. Plus Maskaev has gotten OLD. Dont let the Rahman fights fool ya. Im not saying it will happen in three, but I just can't see Maskaev lasting more than seven, unless Peter is grossly out of shape.

If Wlad is so great, how come Sam knocked him down 3times! Then Sam gets knocked down 3time to McCline? The HW division is a ****ing big joke!
