i don't think opposition has been that stiff outside of margarito.
mattheysse was a decent win. mitchell was badly faded, and santos pakau??? terrible mismatch.
sanchez, rios? not bad wins for a prospect, but it's not like he's fought a good number of real top 10, top 15 guys out there.Comment

As much as I want this fight, the difference in the height and the reach is just too much... I don't think this will be a slugfest...Williams will just jab and jab and Cotto is too small for Williams.. Cotto should either fight Cintron or Margarito..Comment

none of those guys are really calling out williams neither. what you think about the list of possible matchups for williams that I posted earlier?i don't think opposition has been that stiff outside of margarito.

Cotto has won me over somewhat, especially with his performance against Mosley. He showed he has dimension, he can box, avoid when needed, and really compete with the upper tier of the Welterweight division.
But there's just something about Paul Williams that makes me think the dude is damn near unbeatable. It probably has something to do with the 82" reach advantage and the fact that he can outwork damn near anybody in punches thrown and punches landed.
I'd edge Williams by a decision. I just don't know how Cotto would manage to overcome the monsterous disadvantages in height and reach.
Good post. It will depend on who stablishes type of fight. If Cotto may find a way to get close. (obviously taking some hits of the 100 thrown) Then cotto has a chance. I somehow don't see PW taking many bodyshots with his tall larky ass building. At some point his skinny ass may give up. Then again, if PW stablishes his game plan, he may take the fight 12 rounds and might get a win by decision.Comment

Mayweather is going to have to put up or shut up at one point down the road, if Oscar beats him then most likely he makes the trilogy but if Floyd wins he has to decide to either retire or defend, if he retires which would be dishonorable because he wont give the proper chance to someone by winning the title by fighting for it he will forfiet the titles and then they can just fight for it and Floyd will fade away and if he continues to fight he has to face a legit dude. either way his time is ticking and if he don't fight at least twice this year then he's no longer #1 pound for pound, Miguel Cotto might take that title if he can remain undefeated after all the tough tasks that await him for 2008, either way there will be an undisputsed champion for 2009 regardless who Floyd decides to fight.
Agree with you. PBF will beat ODLH again, unless PBF takes a dive for the record setting PPV trilogy. If PBF wins, he retires "been the undisputed champ". (we all know he will be ducking legit contenders)Comment

True, a posibility.Comment

He will have no other choice than to fight Collazo, Judah or the Margarito/Cintron loser. Cotto will keep the winner busy. PBF and ODLH are just in love with each other.Comment
