He actually looked best against Wright, but he still should have lost that bout. He was doing a fine job of fighting off Pavlik, capitalizing on Pavlik's pride, almost knocking him out.

I'm just glad that one of his fights finally had a decisive outcome.

A come foreward brawler would be destroyed by JT. A guy with a style similar to gattis, or mayorgas or even tito i think would get destroyd

and for the record, those things got him far........

i think he did best against hopkins.....i mean hopkins isnt a word beater, but he is hard as **** to beat....taylor had all the physical characteristics to win clear cut rounds against hopkins twice....

he looked good against come forward fighters like ouma-pavlik-wright because he can blast them away with power......but the bigger and stronger the other guy was, the less it worked...

he looked like the real deal against boxers because with his power and very good handspeed he could stun them wit one punch....spinks being the exception........

but he has never looked particularly good against any elite fighter....

he is effective because of born-with characteristics

i like the guy a lot...
taylor is a great athlete but a **** fighter, he looks like he doesn't really want to be in the ring most of the time unless he's beating up welterweights. the kid should be playing pro football instead of fighting.

He'd go well with Abraham or Kessler. He would have knocked Miranda out at 160, at 168 he looks like a Cruiserweight so I'm not sure.

the kid is much better than he gets credit for! he has flaws for sure, but he is a very solid fighter! no matter what u thought of his fights with bhop, and wink he was right there, and that says alot against 2 hofer's! **** man the kid took bhops titles! i give him his due! he earned it! he needs to get up to 68! he may have a good shot minus a fight with kessler/joe!

He actually looks halfway decent against a volume puncher in Ouma, but clearly not as good as he should have against a 154 pounder who doesn't have a lot of power.

He looks fairly bad against Spinks, and even loses a scorecard, which has been endorsed by more than a few good posters on here.

And then finally, he gets a toe-to-toe fighter that is made for his style, and he finally ****ing loses by KO.

Is Taylor's forte knocking out lower-level competition? I mean seriously, can this guy actually be considered elite if he loses to Pavlik in the rematch? He hasn't looked better than average against any elite competition, and he has had 7 tries after the rematch.

                Thoughts?
I thought he looked great against Pavlik thats the best Jermain Taylor i've seen since before the Bernard Hopkins fight, its just Pavlik has a huge reach and unlike a lot of pressure fighters he uses the jab and he out jabs Taylor which will give him all sorts of problems.
