Here are some of the excuses that u are going to hear:

Who's Cotto, he doesnt bring anything to the table, Floyd will make more money fighting Oscar, Cotto doesnt deserve a shot at Floyd, Cotto has to clean out the entire WW division before he should ask for a shot at Floyd, Floyd wont fight Cotto because he hates Arum, Floyd needs a break because his body is breaking down, etc.......................

All those are valid excuses although excuses. Well more like justifications.. fact is Floyd doesn't have to fight Cotto. Cotto is not the head of the division but he could have been, had he fought someone other than gomez. In that case cenario he would be head and shoulders and pretty much would make Floyd want to fight him. As it is, and as a 31 year old (turning this year) you have the right to fight only the one who stands out and not Cotto, then Williams, then Citron, then Margarito as PBF haters would like. Arum's plan is simple: Not make Cotto big enough for a Floyd fight yet (because he would be beat) and wait a bit till Floyd is old enough to be beat, much like Calzaghe has done to Bernard Hopkins and Klitosko wanted to do to Lenox Lewis.
The problem with this (old) strategy is some of those old lions have managed to keep their brains intact alongside their careers and it's not easy to make them bite the bait.
