Why are people saying that cotto isnt ready to fight floyd yet? i understand that he hasnt been in many mega fights but if the people are asking for a floyd cotto fight than why dont they try to make it happen? Floyd is not helping himself out by fight de la hoya again. he is the P4P best fight now but alot of people say he not bc he's not fighting the best of his weight class. he wins the title and than moves up to fight dlh and than fights a hatton who has to move up. why doesnt he fight anyone in the div. they all are fighting eachother. why cant floyd get into that mix? i think maywheather vs cotto would be one great fight to watch even if cotto "isnt ready"?

Who's Cotto, he doesnt bring anything to the table, Floyd will make more money fighting Oscar, Cotto doesnt deserve a shot at Floyd, Cotto has to clean out the entire WW division before he should ask for a shot at Floyd, Floyd wont fight Cotto because he hates Arum, Floyd needs a break because his body is breaking down, etc....................... -
heres a list of why cotto doesnt deserve a Floyd fight...
1.Who's Cotto, he doesnt bring anything to the table
2.Floyd will make more money fighting Oscar
3.Cotto doesnt deserve a shot at Floyd, Cotto has to clean out the entire WW division before he should ask for a shot at Floyd
4.Floyd wont fight Cotto because he hates Arum
5.Floyd needs a break because his body is breaking down
well that was my attempt at humor....to be honest though i really think this fight is going to happen...i think floyd is just gonna let cotto build up his popularity a bit more so that it can be a MEGA fight between these two, i know it sucks but sometimes as fans we must patiently wait for fights we want.Comment

I honestly believe that Floyd was hesitant to fight the big WW's because he wasnt a real WW and he didnt want to lose just because someone is too big for him. If he loses he wants it to be because the person is better. Oscar is big also but everyone knows that Oscar brings the big bucks to the table and so does Hatton compared to everyone at WW.
I do think the Cotto fight will happened probally around this time next year. I always say that people shouldnt be upset about the Floyd-Oscar fight because the more Floyd fights a big guy the more he will feel confident in fighting Cotto. I think Oscar will come down to WW for this fight. If Floyd beats a big Oscar at WW again then I think that will be the last straw for the Cotto fight. Add to that the fact that in another year Floyd will probally have gain some more weight and it makes sense. Not only that but the Cotto fight will just be much bigger by that time after Cotto beats Gomez & the Margarito-Cintron winner. People hate it now but I think it will all work out in the end and they will fight around this time next year. It sucks to hear about another year but thats how boxing goes.
You have to remember that Floyd isnt a real WW so its not totally fear to say that he has to just clean out this division like he did 130Comment

big fan of both cotto and mayweather, and they both deserve a shot at each other. bottom line: this is the only fight that makes sense at welterweight.
i have no problem with them taking tune up fights, but mayweather fighting de la hoya again is a load of bull****.Comment

i see what your saying and agree with you when you say that he wants cotto to build his name more. but you put that fight at the garden the PR fans will show up especally since it would be one of their rising stars and prolly new hero in the sport since tito is going to retire agian for the 100 time. plus it would also be against the best fighter P4P today. i dont believe this crap about having to build him up just sign the fight not an oscar fight. i understand that its all about money today but if he wants to be known as the best and respected as the best than he needs to fight the best not the old best. oscar did it, sugar ray did it. look at who they beat in their div and tell me they didnt deserve their title at the time.Comment

They should fight but Cotto will be losing his 0. If Cotto wanted it so bad he should have fought Clottey or Margarito not Gomez. Cotto will probably finish him in under 6 rounds(Gomez=slightly faster Baldomir with slightly more skills). If Cotto takes Paul Williams' belt Floyd has no choice. And if Floyd refuses then its a clear duck.Comment

Nothing in the world will suddenly give floyd confidence to fight Cotto. He lacks that confidence because he knows what Cotto can do and he knows what Cotto is made of.
the only remote chance Pbf will fight Cotto is if he is publicly shamed into it. if fans and media AND HBO put pressure on him to face Cotto. But there is a very likely chance that with all the pressure floy will still run off and hide somewhere, such as MMA, hiatus, retirement, surgery on his middle toe, dancing with the stars II, rap career, rematch with judah.Comment

Yeah I'm glad you know Floyd lacks the confidence to beat Cotto who has a basic style. Cotto doesn't do anything fancy. He's been nearly defeated twice. Lucky for him he was fighting youngins and average fighters.
I guarantee Cotto won't go as far as Margarito has tried to get a fight with Floyd. Cotto doesn't wanna lose that 0.Comment
